Dear readers of sportandbeauty. Today we’re going to dedicate our post to a male model. Our guest has been one of the handsomest and most famous male models of the last years. Perhaps his name won’t be very familiar to you but for sure you remember him advertising the well-known Giorgio Armani’s fragrance Acqua di Gio. He is American and contemporary with Mark Vanderloo, Marcus Schenkenber and Alex Lundqvist amongst other renowned male models. I think you already know that our post is about Larry Scott. So let me introduce you Larry Scott an American model who became famous for being the first male model to ever have advertised Giorgio Armani’s Acqua di Gio.
There seems to exist two different versions about the way Larry Scott was discovered for the fashion world. Some say Larry was discovered by a photographer while he was working as a clerk in a jewelery store in San Francisco. Others say he was discovered while skateboarding outside a jewelery store also in San Francisco. Ok, what both versions have in common are the jewelery store and San Francisco. No doubt that having a look at his pictures our female readers might well think that Larry Scott is a real jewel.
Whichever version is real, the truth is that his coincidence with those aforementioned great models prevented Larry Scott from getting the recognition he deserved. However, since the American model shot the advertisement for Acqua di Gio in 1997 his name started to gain popularity and become one of the most sought-after amongst male models during the ten years he served the role of Giorgio Armani’s fragrance spokesperson until he was replaced by German model Lars Burmeister.
In 1999 Larry Scott gave up fashion for two years coming back in strength in 2001. He’s also worked for Success Paris, Mega Agency Hamburg, Wilhelmina New York and Scoop Copenhaguen. Larry Scott has also participated in ad campaigns for Saks Fifth Avenue in Vanity Fair, Nine West alongside Carmen Kass and Anne Menke and Armani. In 2008 the American model starred in campaigns for Ermenegildo Zegna and Intimissimi lingerie and in 2009 and 2010 in campaigns for Faconnable and Angelo Nardelli. About his private life, we can say that Larry Scott had a sentimental relationship with the Australian singer Kylie Minogue.
