SWEDISH MODELS FRIDA GUSTAVSSON

Dear readers of sport&beauty. Today we’re traveling to Sweden to present one of the youngest and most promising Swedish models, Frida Gustavsson. Despite her youth, Frida Gustavsson is one of the most sought-after Swedish models and a regular face in the fashion shows of the most renowned fashion labels in today’s time. Although her modeling career has just started, Frida has already walked for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren or Versace, appeared in fashion magazines such as Elle, Numéro, and Vogue and starred in ad campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Jill Stuart, and Anna Sui amongst others. Dear readers, let me introduce you Swedish model Frida Gustavsson. Here you are Frida.

Frida Gustavsson was born in the Swedish capital, Stockholm on June 6, 1993. Her modeling career started in 2008 when Frida began modeling in her country of origin. That same year, the Swedish model moved to Japan in an attempt to boost her rising career and gain experience and international recognition. Said and done. The following year Frida Gustavsson signed for IMG modeling agency laying the foundations for a promising career in the fashion world. Already in 2009, Frida opened Valentino’s Fall Winter fashion show in Paris and walked for Lebanese designer Elie Saab. Have a look at Frida’s legs in the second picture. They are endless….

Already in September, Frida opened Luella, Pringle of Scotland, Gianfranco Ferre and Les Copains’ Spring fashion shows in London and Paris and closed Just Cavalli and Gareth Pugh’s Spring ones in Milan and Paris. Besides, websites models.com and style.com included her amongst the ten most promising newcomers of the year and in October the Swedish model appeared in an editorial of “L’Officiel” France and in a spread of “Crash” magazine. This is what I would consider as having a tight agenda.

To finish the year and during the months of October, November, and December, Frida returned to printed magazines appearing in editorials for “Vogue”, “Vogue” France and “Vogue” Great Britain. As you will probably have noticed, 2010 was another exhausting year for the Swedish stunner. That year she was the fourth most demanded model for the Spring Summer campaign only behind Polish and French models Kasia Struss and Constance Jablonski.

SWEDISH MODELS ADINA FOHLIN

Dear readers of sport&beauty. We’re traveling to Sweden to retake one of our favorite issues, beautiful Swedish models. After having dedicated previous articles to Helen Swedin and Elsa Sylvan, today’s post is dedicated to Swedish model Adina Fohlin. Despite her youth, Adina’s résumé includes some major achievements since she has starred in ad campaigns for some of the world's most renowned fashion firms such as Alberta Ferretti, Allessandro Dell'Acqua, Ann Taylor, Apoliva, Armani Exchange, Moschino Jeans, RoccoBarocco, Tommy Hilfigher or Yves Saint Laurent amongst others and has made it to the cover of “Elle”, “Vogue”, “Flair” or “Marie Claire”. Dear friends, here you are Adina Fohlin, one of the leading Swedish models of our time.

Adina Fohlin beautiful Swedish model

Adina Fohlin was born in Stockholm on December 20, 1984. Adina was discovered by “Vogue” Paris’ fashion director Emmanuelle Alt. Having a walk across Stockholm, Emmanuelle saw a girl that possessed unique facial features and immediately approached her. A new star had been born. Adina’s agency creative director Myriam Obadiah describes Adina as a woman whose features are completely different from those of the regular models we are used to seeing on the catwalk. I think she must be a really nice girl but if she looked at me this way I would be really frightened.

Adina Fohlin mysterious Swedish model

Let’s talk about her modeling career. Adina Fohlin made her debut on the runway in September 2000 walking for Moschino, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Imitation of Christ in Milan and Paris. The Swedish model started the year 2003 becaming the face of Moschino Jeans and being photographed by Mario Testino for a spread of “V” magazine. In February, Adina started to consider giving up her modeling career but was persuaded not to do so by Alexander McQueen who offered her to open his Fall fashion show in Paris. Also in February, Adina opened Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs’s Fall fashion shows in New York and, in March, she appeared in an editorial of “Vogue” France. Still in March, the Swedish model opened and closed Stella McCartney’s Fall fashion show in Paris and closed Christian Dior and John Galliano’s shows also in Paris.

Let’s continue talking about 2003, one of Adina Fohlin’s most successful years. In June, Adina made it to the cover of “Flair” Italy and in August graced the cover of “Vogue” Japan. Towards the end of 2003, Adina participated in Tommy Hilfiger and David Yurman’s Fall ad campaigns and appeared in editorials for “Numero” and “Vogue” Japan. What a tight agenda she had that year!!! There is not much information available about Adina’s work in 2006, so we’ll go straight to June 2007 when she landed in the cover of “Vogue” Italy photographed by Steven Meisel, who photographed Adina again for Alberta Ferreti’s ad campaign together with fellow model Julia Stegner. In 2008, the Swedish model appeared in editorials for “Flair”, “Amica”, and “Marie Claire” and in 2009 she reappeared in two editorials for “Vogue” Spain and “Elle” Italy and a spread of “Tush”. Out of curiosity I’ll tell you that Adina Fohlin starred in an ad for Apoliva (a set of products for personal care) broadcasted in Sweden in August 2009 and that became famous when more than 100,000 Swedes joined a group in Facebook called “I’m scared of the girl in the Apoliva commercial”. ELSA SYLVAN BEAUTIFUL SWEDISH MODEL

Dear readers of sport&beauty. Today we’re traveling to Sweden to meet one of the representatives of the new crop of Swedish models. Today’s guest has walked for Givenchy, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs and graced the covers of Elle Sweden and Elle Italy. She’s not as renowned as Mini Anden or Helen Swedin though. As you may have probably guessed our post is going to be dedicated to the Swedish model Elsa Sylvan. Here you are Elsa Sylvan a beautiful Swedish model. I think she’s nice and lovely but a little too skinny for my likes.

Swedish beauty Elsa Sylvan

Elsa Sylvan Swedish model

Elsa Sylvan was born in Stockholm on January 23, 1987. Elsa, aka “young Adina” because of her resemblance with supermodel Adina Fohlin, was discovered in Grona Lund, an amusement park near Stockholm. Elsa`s breakthrough came in 2006 when the Swedish model signed for DNA Models and made her debut in Paris walking for Givenchy’s 2007 Spring fashion show. Here you are Elsa Sylvan’s measurement and data:

Full name: Elsa Sylvan

Date of birth: January 23, 1987 in Stockholm, Sweden

Height: 180 centimetres (5’11")

Measurements: (EU) 81-61-89 : (US) 32-24-35

In February 2007 Elsa walked in New York for Doo Ri, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, and Zac Posen’s Fall collections and in March she opened Comme des Garçons’ Fall fashion show. In July, Elsa Sylvan opened Nina Ricci’s resort collection fashion show in New York and then she traveled to Paris to walk for Akris, Lanvin, Nina Ricci, and Vivienne Westwood’s 2008 Spring fashion shows. The same year, and in addition to her catwalk work, Elsa Sylvan graced the covers of the French “Revue des modes”, Elle Sweden and Elle Italy and appeared in editorials for Elle Italy, Numéro Japan and in the Fall fashion issue of the New York magazine photographed by Andreas Sjödin. Finally the Swedish model signed for Viva Paris and starred in Sportmax’s Fall ad campaing alongside Namibian model Behati Prinsloo. No doubt 2007 was what we could call a busy year for Elsa.

In January 2008 our friend Elsa walked in Paris for Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy, and Valentino’s haute couture fashion shows, in Februar she opened Nanette Lepore, Yigal Azrouel, and Zac Posen’s Fall fashion shows in New York, in June Elsa walked for Balenciaga’s resort collection show also in New York and in July she trudged the catwalk for Anne Valérie Hash, Christian Lacroix, Chanel , and Valentino’s haute couture fashion shows in Paris. I supposed Elsa was so exhausted that she missed New York and Milan Fashion Weeks to reappear in Paris walking for Balenciaga, Chloé, Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Louis Vuitton, and Valentino’s fashion shows.

Don’t you believe that fashion magazines forgot about Elsa. In January 2009, tireless Elsa Sylvan opened Christian Lacroix’s haute couture show in Paris walking also for Armani Privé, Chanel, and Valentino’s haute couture shows. In March, and also in Paris, Elsa closed Balenciaga and Yohji Yamamoto’s Fall fashion shows. More shows to come. In July Elsa walks in Paris for Armani Privé, Christian Lacroix, and Elie Saab’s haute couture fashion shows and, finally, Elsa closed her catwalk season in September opening Proenza Schouler, Erdem, Roberto Cavalli, and Akris’ Spring fashion shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Still in 2009, Elsa Sylvan became a face of Balenciaga and appeared in Marie Claire Italy (April cover photographed by Max Cardelli), Dazed&Confused (April photographed by Bryan McMahon), Cover (June cover photographed by Hasse Nielsen), Vogue France (August photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin), Elle (September photographed by Lina Schevnias), and Vogue Brazil (December photographed by Stephane Gallois). Elsa Sylvan started 2010 walking in January for Armani Privé, Chanel, Valentino, and Anne Valérie Hash’s haute couture Spring fashion shows. She’s also walked for Celine’s Spring collection fashion show and appeared in W magazine photographed by Craig McDean. Out of curiosity we will say that hadn’t she been a model, Elsa would have liked to go into International Relations for Education at a global level and other political issues. As we can see Elsa is a woman with concerns. To conclude the post I’ll leave a slideshow with some pictures of Elsa Sylvan and some videos so you can see this beautiful Swedish model live. Best regards.

SWEDISH FASHION MODELS HELEN SWEDIN

Dear readers of sport&beauty. Today we are traveling to Sweden to start a new series about Swedish fashion models. Why to Sweden? Because I think that, alongside Brazilian and Czech ones, Swedish models are the most beautiful women on Earth. To start with, I have chosen one of my favorite models, Helen Swedin. In the last years Helen has been better known for her marriage with Portuguese soccer star Luis Figo than for her work on the catlwak. We must recognize that Helen looks like a blonde angel. She’s pretty and has a wonderful figure. I wonder whether the Swedish model would have married Luis Figo had he worked as a truck driver instead of being a well-off football superstar. You know that wonderful models are crazy about football stars. Ask Adriana Skleranikova or Linda Evangelista.... Here you are beautiful Swedish model Helen Swedin, Luis Figo’s wife.

Helen Swedin was born on October 22, 1976 in Solleftea, Sweden. She wanted to become a physiotherapist but her angel face and stunning measurements (90-58-87) forced Helen to change her plans and start to work as a model at an early age. At just 16, Helen already walked the runway in Sweden but it seems that she didn’t like cold climate and five years later the Swedish model started to travel around the world working for international fashion brands. Helen arrived in Barcelona to do an assignment for Elite and decided to stay lured by the sun and the Mediterranean. I suppose that besides the sun and the Mediterranean, Luis Figo also had something to do with it. Helen Swedin and Luis Figo met at a flamenco bar in Barcelona during a show of the famous dancer Joaquin Cortes in 1996. Helen was 21 and the then Barcelona player Luis Figo 23. Look at Luis Figo. Not even in his best dreams could Figo have imagined that he would conquer such a beautiful woman. Here you are the measurements and data of this stunning Swedish beauty called Helen Swedin:

The Swedish model and Luis Figo have three daughters: Daniela (born in 1999), Martina (born in 2002), and Stella (born in 2004). Although the Swedish model gave birth to Daniela in 1999, she and Luis Figo didn’t get married until 2001. They got married after five years of dating in a fairytale wedding held in the Portuguese Algarve in front of 200 guests. Helen Swedin is a role model for the perfect wife, mother and hard-working woman. Besides she also claims she is a good housewife. She loves cooking and turned her love for cooking into a catering business opening a Japanese restaurant, the Kin Sushi Bar, in an area of Barcelona called the Eixample. Later she sold her part in the business before moving to Madrid. After playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid, Luis Figo moved to Inter Milan, where he retired last year, although they bought a house in Madrid and Helen often says that she misses the light of Spain. For sure that Spaniards also miss this stunning Swedish beauty.

Helen Swedin has starred in ad campaigns for numerous fashion brands such as Ana Sousa, Arena, Don Algodón, Friday's Project, Giorgio Armani, Guess?, Isdin, Kia, Land Rover, L'Oréal, Luciano Padovan, Nike, Vista Alegre, Nokia, Chamila Jewellery and Schwarzkopf and has been spokesperson for H&M and a Braun’s lady shaver. She’s also graced the covers of fashion magazines like Elle, Telva, Marie Claire, and Woman. Out of curiosity we can say that some years ago, being still very young, Helen Swedin posed half naked for a controversial ad campaign whose pictures can still be found on the Internet.
